Default quandry????

I have two 262c`s,named A and B and an (89G) 240glt that I was planning to return to daily use. However, as my garage extension to house the one owner 262 (A)is taking forever I have decided to have a go at getting the 262 (B) I was going to break back on the road using the 240 as a parts car.
As B`s bonnet is a bit rusty i was thinking about fitting the GLT front end to B. What is involved? Is it a straightforward swap or do I need to be changing wings etc?

Sorry I have no idea what is specifically involved in that task. I am puzzled that the task is being considered. If I read your post correctly, 262 (B) and 240 GLT are each/both capable of being on the road again. But you are proposing having one hopefully working Heinz Varieties car, and two collections of remaindered components? Plus 262 (A) stashed away. It sounds like a lot of work and probably an expensive loss by the process? Or am I utterly confuddled? That does happen.

Dougie - I was thinking of putting the brand new bonnet I bought for my 264 up for sale, now I've sold the car. Don't know part-number or if it fits a 262 but from descriptions I've seen, it is what they call the "coffin-nose" shape.
If interested can send pic: brand new in primer save for me drilling the front trim fixing holes. Always stored in my spare-room.

Is that not typical.....I have just today ordered a new bonnet from VGCP.. hey ho. But I have also ordered 2 shiney new 262c doors from Sweden as well. There cant be many of those left!!! An expensive hit but not so in labour time saved bodging up crumbly door bottoms and a bent crusty bonnet.
So the game changes with the unexpected parts availability. 262 A is getting new doors and bonnet, 262 B is getting A`s cast offs which are perfectly good. B is returning the favour by swapping its interior and polished bumpers. The end game is to get B to a good standard to use this year till A is up and running. I also picked up an almost new passenger seat from the
US.
Now if 262c "C" comes along, a 55000m `81 blue thing, unused since `94 along with 6 spare engines (its stablemates are 265,240GLT,244, a number of other ****e and a loft full of spares). We are back to square one.
The 240GLT I have here is perfectly good to put back on the road and is open to offers for sale before I start nicking bits off it.
