With the imminent collection of my new XC90 this Thursday, I felt a bit guilty and persuaded my wife to buy a newer car. Shes getting a electric Renault Zoe, so it should offset my emissions a bit. 🤪
Does anyone have one of these cars? |

I've had one for just over 3 years, signed up for it during the mega cheap deals Renault were doing at the end of 2014.
They're great cars, even better if you have access to free charging. The acceleration from a standing start is good fun and the handle nicely mostly due to all the weight being low down and between the wheels. Also, having a single speed reduction gearbox it's always in the right gear so no running out of power mid bend. |

To offset my D5, ordered a Kia Niro Hybrid for the wife. Hopefully the car will arrive next month.

I hear a lot about going green getting an electric car but it has to depend upon how we generate the energy. I remember reading this last year: https://www.ft.com/content/8f65f54a-...1-d5f7e0cd0a16
And thinking that must be a good thing, but then I found out we classify imported energy under the renewable bracket!!! So when we report our figures each year, like the civil servant says we don't have to account for the CO2 from imports its the same as renewable...FYI those climate goals we have signed upto..the governments plan is to import 40-50% of our energy, that is our official plan! Best be getting a good deal from Brexit and hoping those Russian relations improve so we can keep the lights on in 20 years...sorry didn't mean to rant.
