Default SRS issues

I had an intermittent fault on the SAS for quite some time. It would initially only come up if you left the car on full lock. VIDA confirmed that it was the SAS that was throwing up the fault. I lived with it as it was only full lock. The problem become worse and would come up if the wheel was left dead centre as well. Then I got am airbag light up as well and got the error codes SRS-0014 and SRS-0101. Vida indicated that these can also be down to the contact reel, which is where the SAS is located in my year (2005 D5) so I replaced that but these 2 codes remained along with the warning light on the dash. I then decided to try a different airbag to see if that was the problem but the codes still remain.
As far as I can tell it only leaves either the wiring loom or the module. Is the module plug and play or do I need to try the repair route.
I have to do someth8mg as the MOT is due this month and a non extinguished airbag light is a failure.

Airbag faults do not reset automatically, you must reset them manually using VIDA

If you deal with the first fault code the second should go too ,
Next step are the dummy resistor tools which substitute the air bag in the steering wheel , the dealer will have these ...

You do have a 2005 model year car ?as it is different to a 2004

the next stage is plug in the test resistors if that cures it , then it is the air bag faulty ..

It’s the same part number. Was from a car from the same manufacturing year and even has the same date of manufacture on it. The car it was removed from didn’t have any faults on it when it was removed.

Further on this
Checking both codes for there details and they are showning as green on the current cycle and looking further in to the details it says that there have been 22 cycles since the fault was last logged i.e. 22 since no fault. This is the same for both codes but I still can’t get the codes to clear. I have read on here that this indicates a fault with in the module. For me to buy a brand new one would be almost as much as the car is worth. I know that others have managed to buy second hand ones with matching part numbers and had the software reloaded by Volvo. I have tried the battery disconnected for an hour but no luck.
Thoughts or advise?
