I had faulty SRS module on my old 2003 v70. The SRS warning light could not be cleared and codes indicated internal fault. I purchased one on eBay with the same part number but had to get volvo dealer to program.

Luckily my eBay purchase was a new and unused item, but I understand a second hand unit of the same part number may well work with no programming.

The long socket appears to have pins added/missing for differing part numbers so could be that this is significant but get correct part number and could well be OK.

Good luck

JHi Owen
Have you tried a search just using the part number as search item on internet? I just tried
And currently one available in Italy.

I have only good experience in purchacing my parts, both new and second hand from Europe for my xc90. Perhaps I am just lucky.

Hope this helps and again, good luck

Tired a secondhand module and whilst it no longer had the airbag filets the is a can bus error as the secondhand unit doesn’t have the passenger airbag switch. I have the car booked into Volvo to try and reload the module. Now do I go for the original one with the faults stuck on it or the secondhand one which is of a slightly different configuration.

Just to close this out. Volvo reloaded the SRS software today and this cleared all the faults. Now just the MOT to pass.
