I drove my 1951 Ford Pilot from the IoW to Anglia Car Auctions in Kings Lynn a couple of years back and was going to do the same for the 240 but just don't have the time at the moment so entered it closer to home. |

Interesting on 240 waggon lovers, that car is pictured and talked about being taken in by a new car dealer as one of these current scrappage deals, and being offered for sale for £4000!!!! So tidy profit there if reall sold as the add says!!

The "ownership community" have an interest in the prices going up, "they" own and at times sell 240s. The buying community have an interest in low prices, until they become owners. This owner, me myself, sees various prices and takes them with varying amounts of salt. Private prices including in the forum, as well as dealer prices, can be....interesting. ....
As for dealers, people dealing with them need to see the reality of what they are paying for. For example dealers have to lay out someone's money to buy the vehicles which probably means the cost of borrowing, carry their business costs and overheads, wait for a buyer who will believe in their price, pay their own income during that time and carry the cost of whatever after sales they can offer to their buyers. Private sale prices and dealer prices are chalk and cheese. Opinions vary as to 240 prices, including opinions within the forum. I would say the market forces averages corrected for individual variations is what decides prices and decides what is overpriced. . Last edited by Stephen Edwin; Mar 17th, 2018 at 23:08. |
