Aha! In that way. That makes sence! I'll have to take a øook at this! Even if it isn't this who cause the issue, I'm more than much happy to get the informatio/tips. Have anyway learned a new thing about my car!
Thank you! |

One more info:
The idle issue seems to be away when the engine is a little hot when startin first time a day. Example: In the winter time I sometimes use the electric engine heater (230V) so the temp. gauge is about 5 mm. above minimum when start up. I can't remember I have notice the problem in this situation. |

Where does the temp gauge sit once the engine is fully warmed up?

Does it stay there no matter what speed you drive at or does it drop at all?

I think thre's a pattern emerging here.
You haven't got a cold air intake on it have you? If not, is the thermostatic valve in the air intake trunking working ok? It's not unknown for these to stick causing drivability problems especially in cold countries and/or cold weather.

Wild goose chase
There is no vacuum feed to the EZK on a 940 LPT so don't waste your time looking for it. There are many differences between it and an old 740!

If you have one here are some pics of the one in my 745 (non-turbo). More often or not they get stuck in the open position so preventing hot air getting into the intake when warming up. I tried for a long while to find some in the UK. They are easy to get in the US. I eventually got mine from Skandix in Germany. Not cheap with the p&p. The original ones were made for Bosch by another German company Whaler (don't think I quite got the spelling right!).
PS - You have to be a bit brutal getting the plastic diverter assembly part with the air thermo in it separated from the main filter box. Depress the two holding nubs and then put the whole lot gently in a vice and thump away (easily) with a wooden drift and it will start to ease out. Last edited by bob12; Mar 18th, 2018 at 11:36. |
