Default climate control

I posted this question on the xc90 section but I didnt get much of a reponse so I'll try here, the light on the "auto" button is always on, even when I overide it with the fan speed knob, is this right or should the light go out ?
thanks Dave

Hi Dave,on a personal note i would leave it on auto. With it coming winter it'll keep your windows clear of condensation

However,if you want to switch it off it's the button above the fan speed switch "aircon" off
then just use the fan control switch. If you press the auto button it'll switch the aircon back
on.

Hope this helps

Jason

Hi Dave, just another point,if you switch the auto off (climate) and turn on the blower's (warm air) you might find that the wind screen will steam up so please be carefull,we dont want any accident's now do we!!!.

I would if i were you, leave the climate control (on) .

Jason

Yes that is correct , as the rest of the system will still automaticaly be doing it's best to keep the temperature to your setting despite you demanding more or less air by altering the fan speed control .... .

I can switch my ACon off by pressing the right side of the AC switch. You have to make sure the AUTO is switched off. AC certainly required to clear screen but it does use more fuel and it should be switched on intermittently. Even during winter.

not much extra at all in reality , and the benefit of clearing the screen quicker, and keeping it clear and not sitting in a car with an idling engine outweighs the minor savings of not using aircon.

unless you like being a tank commander driving with just a letterbox view
