Default 2009 D5 185 loaded with 205 software?

Hi all,

Im picking up my D5 185 in a few weeks. The seller has advised that he had the 205bhp software loaded on at the dealer when it was new.

Is that possible? Has anyone heard of it before?

Ill be happy if its the case, as it saves me paying for a remap!

That model D5 (D5244T4) goes up to 205bhp with the polestar upgrade. That's the most likely explanation.

as above sounds like a polestar remap for those figures. it would be interesting to see if it has thrown a Ecm mismatch

Thats nice to hear

Apparently the remap was done pre-delivery when new and has been on there for 50k miles.

He bought the car literally in the month before the power upgrade to 205bhp, so he said the 'later software' was loaded on, that will probably be a little lost in translation though, as the seller is Danish, I am English and dealer is in Holland

The later engine (205bhp stock, D5244T10) is a lot more different than software - it has higher common rail pressure and two turbos. I suspect the most likely explanation is that when the new engines came along the buyer expressed his disappointment at not getting it and got some sort of deal on polestar as a way of getting to the same output level.

I have picked the car up now, and confirm its the official Volvo Polestar software:

31312101

185 -> 205 bhp

400nm -> 450nm

Top job
