I've a MY2011 car with the Sensus audio / nav. I understand that the data for the nav is held on a hard disk. Does anybody know if you can get the speed camera DB on that system?

I've previously downloaded speed cameras as POIs from an excellent web site www.pocketgpsworld.com and loaded them onto my TomTom. Is it possible to load speed cams as POIs onto the XC60 system and then get warned as per tem's messages?

I had to turn the speed camera option on, it was in Setting under Points of Interest (POI), if you have this active than it should show / warn you of speed cameras.

Default Donīt trust the satnav when it comes to speedcameras!

I have several cameras on the roads i normally drive. Some of the cameras arenīt marked even if they have been there for decades. Others are marked even being less than a year old. I have found that in average 30% (by my opinion) of the cameras arenīt marked.

... Hence me wishing to see how I can upload a 3rd party database into the system as that gets updated very regularly and is very accurate.

Can you work out what file format the supplied data is in, if you can even find the file on the disk it might be possible to work out what format they are using.
Once the format is understood the usual way to add third party data is to copy the DVD to the PC, swap out the supplied camera data for the third party data then burn the whole lot to a new disk.

If you can find the speed cam file on the disk I am more than happy to take a look at the data format as I am used to quite a few different file types used by various GPS hardware - Mike

There's an option on the Sensus Satnav to import additional POIs from USB or disk: Settings->Import/edit MyPOI

No idea what format it expects, let alone what the filename should be.

SCW, I had a look today on my MY11.5 (took delivery 27th May) ans mine does not appear to have that option under Nav/Settings.....is it possible to check the version of the sensus software so that I coudl compare? Have you perhaps had the Sensus version updated? and if so, how did you achieve this.? I'm desperate to add back functionality that was on MY10 and earlier cars !

Question Is the MY12 Sat Nav HDD based or not?

I am getting confused by the threads on Sat Nav.

Do you have a MY12 car or MY11, I only ask because i am waiting for my XC60 at the moment and the MY12 brochure states that "the sat nav system features a hard disk drive containing maps for major parts of Europe".

However other comments have referred to changing DVD's for different countries.

From MY11.5 (around Oct 2011 build) onwards, cars are fitted with the Sensus system, which has a hard drive. Prior to that, the system was DVD based.
