  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Doesn't sound like the battery to me, sounds more like a faulty connection. Check the starter cables. Easy for me sitting here to try and guess but only you can here it, when it wont start can you flash you lights? if yes then there is power in the battery, if it was flat there would not be enough power to flash.
When you turn on the ignition does the alternator light come on like it should? if yes then then ok, if no perhaps the previous owner took it out to hide a fault?

New battery on as old one had 9v in it
But now sitting outside halfords in ipswich and the bloody thing won't Fire up engine turns over but not firing tried a few times and nothing
No smell of fuel either

HELP

Did they checked the new battery,if it was ok?
I had the same problems as you(klicks and flashing lights) swapted battery(volvo one) and the problems where solved.
