Brake disc size
Hi all, looking at changing all four discs and pads on my new to me XC90 2006 D5. I read somewhere that my front discs should measure 336mm I had a quick look the other day and think mine are 308mm ish
Has it been fitted with the wrong discs do you think or were three sizes fitted from new. 308/316/336 I have seen advertised. I suppose I will have to fit like for like so will pull a front and rear wheel and check properly. john |

Don't rely on a quick look.
Take the wheel off and measure on the disc itself as perspective can give a very misleading measurement. Don't ask me how I know.

All UK spec XC90's were fitted with the same size disc (336mm) which was the largest fitted by Volvo.

I will check tomorrow front and rear. Does this mean my car was not UK supplied and I will have to fit the same as I took off. I have what sounds like a noisy wheel bearing it gets louder as I accelerate and changes tune as I steer left and right. I intend to replace discs and pads, all wheel hubs, timing belt, water pump and auxiliary belt kit. Its done 186.000 miles. Thanks John. Last edited by fifthwheel; May 15th, 2019 at 19:28. |

Quite often the disc size is written on the caliper carrier, but you can only see it with the wheel off
