Default side steps on r design

i have a 2010 xc90 r design. when we bought the car i was under the understanding that i couldn't have sidesteps as there was some metal looking trim unique to the r design instead. last week i saw an almost identical vehicle with side steps does anyone know if i can get the steps retro fitted would just be useful as my kids get older for clambering in the car

regards Paul

someone posted a photo a while back of their new R-design with both side-skirts and steps fitted, so looks like it is possible

I don't think it looks right though - all a bit too tight.

I got told that I couldn't fit mud flaps on my R-Design - anyone?

Fitted rear mudflaps on mine with no problems. Volvo kit comes with 6 new aluminium rivets (you will need a rivet gun) and I simply drilled out the existing rivets, positioned the mud flaps, and pushed in the new rivets.

Same process for front mud flaps I should imagine.

Volvo, Mud flaps fit fine. front and back ,you just need a small drill and a pot rivet gun. The kit comes complete with fixings. and I think they suit the car. If this is your own car and not a contract, I would advise fitting them as the wider tyres fling road rash along the lower door and bump protector .

Cars fitted with side steps seem to get protection from the step.

They fit but better with small spacer,s and longer bolts, Personaly dont think they suit Sport/R'design. Look a bit aftermarket.

nope I've financed it through my Ltd company so I doubt I can start adding bits like mudflaps?

I did get some of these fitted to my old SE which I owned though.

Would love to see examples of the mudflaps on an R-design.

These are the combo you've requested:

My Dads XC90 R-Design has both side steps and front and rear mud flaps.
They are OEM parts just no standard on the vehicle
