These would be just the ticket if you're keeping your Amazon for life.
Should be fine if the S/S is of high enough quality. I'd like to see what the finish is like alongside a set of fresh chrome ones.
This taken for granted, it'd be easy to justify buying a set. Just think of the cost of having your bumpers chromed properly and how long they will last.

Would love to hear if anyone goes for it.

These look very nice. Reading between the lines I'd say that a German firm is having them made in China. My main concern is whether they are thick enough to be as strong as the originals or just a good looking cosmetic add on. I picked up a front centre section that I saw for sale at Beaulieu and that seemed a lot lighter than a scruffy one I have. Maybe currently available ones aren't as thick as originals anyway.
Having said that, I wouldn't say no to a set!

I bought a set of Harrington's SS bumpers for my '68 Karmann Ghia last year for £495 all in (including import duties). Heavy weight stainless steel made in Vietnam. The ones I bought are excellent quality and a perfect fit. These came with towel rails and overriders (as did the original VW products) see the pic of the front end of the KG - if I had an amazon that needed new bumpers or if they were offering a set for the 1800S I would buy them without any hesitation.

Though its hard to tell in a photo, the SS bumper looks a great finish compared to the chrome on the 1800

What was the delivery time and the customer service like with Harringtons?

Cheers Alan thats good to hear, im might have to think about these now on payday, could always sell my rear one which is excellent to make up some of the funds.

Yup, the bumper is the same, the overriders and bumper irons are different.

I'd want to see a set first, I bought some stainless Citroen 2CV bumpers a while back and they were so godawful I couldn't bring myself to re sell them never mind fit them on a car. I tossed them in the scrap metal skip!

Because of the different properties of stainless steel when being pressed they had really bad crease marks in them.
