Default Oil pressure sensor was disconnected

On checking through daughter's new V50, I found the oil pressure sensor connector to be snapped off and dangling on the wire. There have been no specific errors relative to that sensor which has surprised me - only a 6620 code which is a glow plug relay error. I fitted and connected a new sensor today and nothing has changed one way or the other.

Should there have been a dash warning the the sensor disconnected like that? If so, what possible reasons might there be for it not to have been shown?

Incidentally, I also changed the glow plug relay today but the DTC remains in the ECM (I don't have access to VIDA again until next week so I'm only seeing the generic DTC error on the dash menu). Presumably that indicates that either the code needs clearing manually, or the fault is with the glow plugs themselves?

Posted this in your other thread as well

My V50 has had this for over 12 years and I was told by Volvo it can be what they called a "Ghost" reading and not to worry about it
I haven't worried and it hasn't caused any issues so far.

Thanks Iain. Still puzzling over the absence of an error with the unconnected oil pressure sensor though.
