Well, that was an easy fix - unequal tyre pressures. It's not getting much use, barely driven since before Christmas because of no school run and now lockdown and I reckon the way it's parked on the drive is having an impact. Pumped up to the recommended settings (I love that my car has a pressure sticker on the the driver's side door that looks like it's just left the showroom) and the wobble is almost entirely gone.
Thanks for the advice.

It may be that the odd tyre pressures were exaggerating a bit of play in a track rod end-my 940 had a worn OS track rod end that would cause a little oscillation in the steering if the pressures weren't perfectly even.

I wasn't aware of the worn track rod end until the car failed it's MOT on it a few months back-I put it down to a wheel that needed balancing and added it to my "to do" list. After I fitted a new TRE (the only thing the car failed on, bar a slightly perished brake hose-handily on the OSF also-so just one wheel off to do the work!) and had the tracking done, it was like driving on a pool table!

Thanks - looks an easy/cheap job so I'll add it to the list of potential jobs for spring.
