It's located just behind the bonnet release lever...little black cover with blue writing. Just pull the cover off from the center bottom to reveal the fuses.

There's also a fuse box under the bonnet on the NS strut. Might have blown there it you don't find one blown inside the car.

A label / diagram on the inside of the fuse box cover b(eside the bonner release) indicates the amperage and the electrical components protected by each fuse.

From memory it is fuse 2 (20A) which is in the second row of fuses furthest to the left as you face the windscreen.

If you are lucky there may be a spare fuse in the fuse box.

By the way it was not uncommon for company cars to have the fuse removed to deter use of the cigar lighter so do not be too surprised if you are a new owner and do not find a fuse in place.

Just for clarification, the illumination of the cigar lighter is not relevant to it's working at all. If it lights up, doesn't mean it works. If it doesn't light up, doesn't mean it doesn't work. They are entirely unrelated.

Also try spraying it with contact cleaner (Not WD40), as they tend to get dirty.
If the ciggy lighter does not work, then check the owners handbook, or a Haynes book of porkie pies to see which fuse it is. It is probably combined with another service feed, like the radio, so if something else is kaput, it's more likely to be the fuse than a grubby or broken contact in the socket.
If that fails, buy a cheap multimeter to see if the earth or central socket pin contact is forked. Run a fuse wire from the battery for the + or - as required.
