sounds like a nice car to chuck around a track.

Hardline Bar Update

So having driven with this bar and giving it a good test on the Cornish road, the car is definitely firmed up in the rear but I'm not sure if I put enough grease? but the bar is creaking a bit when I take some hard corners? any suggestions (Take it off and apply more grease?)

Anyway has been a brilliant little mod and has definitely helped control the lumpy Volvo weight quite a bit more from lurching around the place.

Girlfriend has a small little Vauxhaul corsa (completely standard) and it corners like a wasp and pretty flat as well. Still pretty far off from that really.

Some good rural roads down your way however I was in my Delica L300 which is not so much a B-Road beast!

Obviously yes - grease her up laddie!

But I think you'll find a great improvement by polybushing the front wishbones, IMO you only need to do the big rear bush as the torsional forces on the front one are negligible with it being a pivoting part - as evidenced by removing a set of wichbones off a 12 year old V50 - the rear bush was sh*gged and the smaller front one was absolutely fine and solid.

In retrospect I'd probably have gone for the Whiteline Anti-Caster Lift Kit as that means the job is done really quick, just angle grind the old bush off and slip on the new bits rather than the utter utter faff involved with retaining the original casing where getting the innards out can and will likely involve - swearing/shouting/drilling/burning/pressing the crap in the middle of the casing out!

Had a chat with the guy at A&K.
Yes 3 position option stated on the 2 hole bar is because you could have it set differently one side to the other. As you say 'dangerous'. I'd never do that.

With respect to the hollow v solid, he said the Hardrace hollow uses different steel. It may well. Entering complicated, detailed engineering here!! It may well do, who knows.

If you look at the bar on Hardrace's website
http://www.hardrace.com/Product_deta...2&Car_Type=340
it shows what he called 'collets' which you attach to stop the bar moving left and right in the clamps, The US IPD bars have these built in with 'ridges' that butt up to the clamps to hold the bar laterally. The collets do the same job.
