Default e-focus or aftermarket torque mount

hi guys,

I replaced my upper right and lower engine mounts a month ago due to excessive movement of the engine when braking or accelerating hard. Also some minor vibrations at idle were noticeable. The upper right mount was the bad one which lost it's hydraulic fluid. Pretty hard to diagnose since my mechanic told me that there was no excessive play with the pry bar. I replaced it anyway stubborn as I am and it fixed most of the vibrations and banging when changing gears.

I replaced the lower mount too with just the standard mount. So that mount is new but still OEM standard.

I still feel like there is quite a bit of movement when chaning gears and pulling away from a stop. Or when the engine is under big load changes. The rubber in the lower mount (new) was still quite easy to move so I am thinking about replacing the mount for a e-focus mount from the USA.

Is it worth it upgrade? how is the increase in vibration? noise? I would like to hear some experiences from you. I have a S40 1.8L petrol, but the mount should be the same for all S40/V50 models if I'm correct.

other aftermarket mounts are an option too.

I have the e-Focus mount and have no complaints, no noticeable idling vibrations but have heard this can be an issue with the diesel engines.

does it drive better around town? tighter shifts less engine rocking? especially when pulling away in first/second gear and releasing the throttle and followed by a throttle input 1 second later. it's just a little bit jerky.

I would like to make the drive train just a little bit tighter overall.

It's hard to recall because now it just feels normal to me, but I think I did notice it being tighter when I first had it fitted For the sake of ~£35 I think it's worth it.

I have an efocus one on mine, never really noticed a different as the problem never really happened on mine. I changed mine because this is something that happens on our cars so thought I might as well and still drives sweet.

+1 to efocus mount. Improves shifting and improves the experience on quick takeoff. Not a huge game changer versus brand new OEM one, I suspect, but defo worthy upgrade with no side effect (in my case) and much cheaper than OEM product.
