Default Wind like noise when driving

Today i took my car for a wash and on driving found that after 20mph a noise began to sound. The more i accelerated the louder it went. The sound is like wind blowing/hum The more i hear it the more it sounds like im on a bus....

I have a 2.0 v50 deisel no turbo.

Any ideas please.

If its a 2.0l diesel then it will have a turbo. It is probably the turbo spooling up that you are hearing. It will spool up at about 1800 rpm.

It does, took them off and still the noise persists... no loose parts, all windows fully shut, no holes or loose seals. Looking at a few sites it suggests wheel bearings starting to go..

With the windows open does it sound the same? With them open you should at least be able to tell whether it's coming from front or rear, top or bottom.

You could make a recording and share it with us, that would help.

My 2.0 is designated as D3 and has a tiny turbo. It is behind the engine, so you would not normally see it.

Continous wind noise can be from turbo issues, but are probably unrelated. Maybe some plastic trim on the bumper is out of alignment?

Did you have the car for some time and is this a new issue?
