What alloys from the wider Volvo range fit the V50?
Hello,
New V50 owner here. My V50 is currently on 18 inch alloys and I'm after some 17s. So I was wondering which wheels from the wider Volvo ranges will fit? I really like the look of Comets, but can't work out if they will fit or not? |

If your current wheels are standard Volvo ones then their width is 7.5 inches, the 5 stud pitch circle diameter is 108mm and the offset is 52.5mm.
It looks like there are 2 versions of the wheel you want - the Comet with a 7 inch rim width and the Comet C with a 7.5 inch width. The 5 stud pitch circle diameter is 108mm for both types. They both have the same offset of 43mm - which means that the rim edge will stick out from the wheel arch about 10mm more than the standard ones if you go for the 7.5 inch rim width or be about the same with a 7 inch rim width. Hope this helps. |

It's a free swap between C30, S40 and V50. However the C70 being wider in the body for the same floorpan, uses wider rims which also have a lower offset. If used on the other three models this could make the wheels sit too far out in the arches - you'd need to try it before committing.
I believe wheels from the P2 cars (S60/V70/S80 range, before the S60/V60) are also useable in terms of their PCD and nuts matching the hub threads but they have a larger centre bore. I don't think the threads and/or nut/bolt requirements match on the newer V40 and S60/V60.

Excellent information, guys. Really appreciate it.
To be honest, I'm looking for a hassle free bolt on option. I saw a set of Comets on line, but it feels like to much of a risk to buy them, get them posted and then find out they won't fit properly. It's a shame, as I really like the style of Comets. Other than that, I guess I'm looking towards Sculptor, Serapis or similar. |

Ford wheels have the same bolt PCD and the same bore as the V50 as most of the suspension, hubs etc is common to Focus. If you like any Ford wheel you just need to check width and offset.
