Alternator / power system service urgent

Thanks to all that have posted about said message

my 2004 v50 2.4 petrol Just decided it was "new alternator time" and spat the
"power system service Urgent" message, illuminated the red "I" of doom and the battery icon at the same time

12.4v on the battery with everything "off"
11.34v with the engine running @ tickover
Noisy as "ahem" alternator ,
ECM-A10D dtc thrown

i know the car has the 150amp alternator fitted,, the how to's on here look doable,, ECP seem to have 4 types listed @ 150a

RTX Alternator

Bosch Alternator

Denso Alternator

Lucas Alternator

other than £ (£200 to £400 range) is there any real diff between the 4 ?
and if you have fitted one from ECP , which one and has it lasted

gen volvo one, maker unknown, and dealer couldnt ( ! ) say which amperage it is £370.
"its the only one listed for your car "

am tempted to say sod it and go with the gen volvo one,
denso = fomoco to me .....
lucas "used to be ok now,,,,,"
bosch "yes please" (and didnt volvo fit bosch ,, pre fomoco days?)

update
the Failed 150a alternator had the "foMoco" sticker on,
stator windings short on this and Extreme heat generated, the part number/sticker Nicely toasted.

replaced with a Gen volvo one
says "volvo 150a Denso" on the thing

time wise ,, 2hours including 3 mugs of coffee and a pause for cleaning out the "dont want to know" things behind the wheel arch liner,
easy job to do, even with shovel size hands and bugger all space ,

Wish i saw this earlier i would have helped. I was going to suggest the denso one because it is the factory item - i got mine from eurocarparts for about £150 a month or two ago.

aye ECP at the moment are asking £414 for the denso 150a one for mine

being the 2.4 petrol i found a T50 "star" drive bit into the adjusters meant they were easy to swing out the way with a small breaker bar to give the leverage ,

the "foMoCo" 150a is also a denso one,, just hope there is a Difference other than the sticker saying volvo / fomoco and this one lasts ,,

I replaced the 150A alternator on Mrs T's V50 about 6 months ago and got a genuine Volvo one (they are actually reconditioned but done to such a standard they are "as new" - hence they are exchange) cost was £230. I did give them a hard time on the price saying I wanted genuine but ECP's cheapest is £180 what's the best you can do?

EDIT: Maybe the £400+ price is for a new one?

doesnt state if new/recon but @ that much more than a gen dealer part, which was there next working day ecp wouldnt have it till weds when i asked friday,, (Gsf were even slower)
volvo wanted £370 +vat + £120 refundable exchange surcharge

total cost to me £320 inc vat, with the surchage waived and it wasn't a recon item
