Getting AWD working asap is a no brainer. Never mind if you never even take on some slippery grass or mud.
My spline drive went phut rendering me front drive only and I can tell you the XC90 is not a happy beast being pulled by the fronts alone. Pulling out of junctions and traction around slower roundabouts is hugely compromised as the fronts really struggle to pull all that weight, It simply wasn't designed that way. Once I got the spline drive sorted low speed cornering was slip free again and I could accelerate out of junctions confident of not scrabbling and slipping at the front. Sharing the load must save a ton of wear on tyres and suspension components too. |
