Default V50 1.6d loss of power but no warning lights etc

Hi chaps,

I was on the motorway today when I noticed that my 2009 V50 1.6d has developed an intermittent fault. Driving at low speeds the car is largely fine but at higher RPM it almost feels like there is no boost, to the point that maintaining speed on slight inclines is impossible. I can put the pedal flat to the floor with no result. There are no warning lights or limp mode notification, just an annoying potentially dangerous lack of power.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue, what was the resolution?

Thanks, Robin

Have checked with my obd reader and it highlighted an existing error with the crank position sensor (CMP sensor p0341code) This will be getting changed of course, but is it likely to cause this issue?

I last changed the fuel filter just before Christmas as the old one had failed.

Cheers, Robin

that's ok then , now that the cars are on their 3rd or 4th owner the servicing gets neglected and filters block giving your symptom .
It is very unlikely to be the sensor , more so the delicate rubber magnetic ring on the end of the crankshaft which the sensor reads , it gets damaged when the belt is changed .
