Default Max Miles On 2.0d Engine?

Please be kind, im new.
Ive fallen in love with the V50 and looking into buying 2.0D SE SPORT.
As this is a long term investment, I dont really want to get rid of it in a few years just because it no longer fashionable. However, I will if it's trouble.
The husband has come round to the idea and as there are 2 kids I feel it has ticked the boxes.
Ive never bought a new car (brand new) but have with a few thousand miles, and I know like FORDS their DIESELS can run into 200k +, does anyone know what the V50D can do?
Im down sizing, currently a Land Rover Disco owner but as much as I love this car, running cost is now my main priority and with the future not looking good I dont want to give anymore to the government.

I read all the pros & cons but im still fixed on the V50, I just cant bring myself to a mondeo or Focus.
Seen a few around with 85K+ mileage on 54 plate and budget is £10k.

Anyone advise.

Really appreciate.

HI,

Welcome to the forums and enjoy your time here..

Generally speaking, mileage and Volvos goes hand in hand..
The current average life of a Volvo is about 23 years.
BUT that has come down from 27 so maybe newer Volvos are not quite so "Volvo for Life"!
Your concerns about high mileage: I wouldn't worry, and a high mileage motorway cruiser is likely to be in better condition than a local runaround..

Better info on the V50D can be seen in the tech forum for the model, remember that this is usually where people come when they have problems so you will see the issues and incidents covered.

Des. . .
