Bearing in mind that my car is a D5 and may behave differently, here's my recent experience.

Everything was working well until early Oct when I got the May '18 update. Since then there's been a few glitches, eg voice commands not working, speed warnings not appearing, etc, but remote heating did always work from the app.

So when I called in today to get the VCM recall done I told their tech guy about the gremlins. He agreed to do a full software update (ie the Nov one) while I waited. I haven't needed to try remote heating since and I won't be using the car tomorrow but I'll check how things are after that and let you know.

It's interesting that Volvo has launched a full update only one month after the last one when normally there's only two per year, roughly six months apart. Does it mean that the Oct update introduced bugs that have had to be squashed quickly?

Update: no problems with remote pre-heating via the app (so far).

Haven't spotted any other changes either but the passenger's seat is still heated on Auto even when no-one is sitting there.

(For those that don't know, in the early days the passenger seat wouldn't heat on Auto unless someone was sitting there. This made perfect sense. However, in an attempt to fix another problem Volvo altered this so that the seat came on regardless. They then said a subsequent software update would re-introduce passenger detection. That was 2 years ago...)

The guy (EU market) claims to have PA3 in his XC90 (apparently confirmed by Volvo Sweden based on VIN code). Did Volvo silently introduced this upgrade to newly built XC90s?
