Throttle position sensor
Hi Volvo owners,
Has anyone purchased the contactless TPS sensors off Ebay . I have a Volvo V70 XC AWD circa 2000 and fitting these would be a lot cheaper than replacing the whole throttle assembly. I would be most grateful to hear if anyone has had either a good or bad experience using the contactless potentiometers. My local Volvo repairman claims he has stopped using these as he had many comebacks , is he correct? Thanks |

I had problems with my 1999 v70 throttle, tried the clean contacts route with no success and went streight to change the throttle peddle assembly at that time £75+ as didnot have the patience for fafing about with may work solutions . 13 years later it's still working although I sold the car to a neighbour years ago.
My advise for what it's worth is change the throttle assembly and forget about it. Having experiance of technological solutions that end up having a mind of their own makes them more trouble than worth it. Paul. |

Can't find the receipt at present, but I bought[and fitted] a TPS from E-bay about May last year and encountered no problems since.
