Are the bolts a must? The description of the inserts doesn't mention it, just remove bolt, put the insert in and put the bolt back in
Without upsetting the purists.... I fitted them, and reused the old bolts. 30k miles later - no issues.

I've been reading up on them, quite a few have used original bolts with no issues 🤔 what difference if any did you notice with the inserts?

Torque To Yield (TTY or stretch) bolts are designed to be tightened until the metal begins to yield i.e. fail. The tension in the bolt then keeps everything tight. If you re-use a bolt, you will over-stretch the metal, with unpredicable results - your decision.

The inserts certainly do stiffen up the subframe/chassis junction.

Is it possible to replace with non-TTY bolts? If so, what are measurements of the bolts?

Yeah but it's a gamble:

Used bolts may, or may not be, OK to reuse. Some people may have good experience, some not.

Brand new bolts are always guaranteed to be OK.

Update - I have replaced lower torque arm and put the subframe inserts in, the car pulls better and slight difference in handling but has made no difference to noise and the car pulling when braking

Does anybody have any suggestions? I have replaced torque arm, top mount and done the poly inserts on the subframe and if anything the noise is worse, it bangs under my feet on start up and when I turn the engine off, also repeatedly knocks when I put in on a full lock

It is probably engine/exhaust mount related if it happens when stationary. Get under the car during start up/shutdown - SAFELY!

I've had a look and think possibly rear engine mount, the gearbox is sat on the subframe rubber bump stop, is there a step by step guide to changing?
