Default Headlight washer pump 56/2007 S40.

56/2007 S40.
Anyone renewed pump for headlight wash? Is it one pump for screen and lights or two seperate ones. Screen works fine but lights wash started leaving jets slightly raised to eventually not working at all. I know some people would say don't bother but it's the only thing not working so I'd like to fix. Cheers.

Sounds like a dodgy o ring in the pump. There is one pump for the windscreen, and one pump for each of the headlights. Fairly easy fix, IIRC, you have to remove the front bumper to get at the pump. You can pick up used pumps at a fairly reasonable price from eBay.

When the turbo was replaced by a second hand garage, they did not know how to remove the bumper, so they cracked one of the headlight washer pump, the entire ECU box was covered with windscreen washing fluid. I was lucky the water did not get into it....I picked up one from eBay, removed the bumper and replace it, is not big deal. I also cleaned the other one, there was a bit of dirt inside of it.

I've fitted a replacement headlight washer on my S40, it was the assembly that pushes out the jet nozzle that was faulty, not the actual pump.

It's a single pump for both with dual outlets.
