Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.... Maybe on a white car they look odd, but on my 164TE in its distinctive sea green/blue colour I think they look great. Wouldn't look right on my early beige 164 though, but of course some people think beige a naff colour.
We buy for style and quality, though, don't we? |

I think the 164 is one of few cars to look good in white, early XJ6s, 420s are other examples. As for the bumpers, well they're just part of the history; they've rather grown on me lately, they are a good bit of design.

yes indeed, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think I was being a bit mean on the later 164s!!

Wow, nearly £4,700 for this seemed expensive. It had an auction estimate of £1,100 on its listing on Car and Classic.
I did ask the seller what condition three meant, and he said basically three was the worst condition. It didn't look that bad in the photos. I hope its new owner is happy with it. It does look lovely. Kind regards Lucien |
