Default Glow plug relay

hiya. looks like the cold weather is I may have a problem starting my 2.0d s40. The light only stays on for about a second even on really cold mornings. Just wondering how long the relay should keep power to the plugs.. Any advice would be appreciated..

Default Glow plug time

The light on mine goes out in a split second but with Vida connected yesterday I can see that it was powered on for 12secs, after the engine fired it came on again for just over 2 minutes.
I have trouble with mine starting, grey smoke and rough idle for approximately 30 secs, I was checking the glow plugs but they seem fine.
