No, but my VIN is within the range for the engine fuel pump recall but I've heard nothing from my dealer. I might give them a call tomorrow.

My fuel pump was replaced back in November due to the fault described in the Recall. The garage said that it was a known problem and Volvo were about to issue a recall.
You'll notice if it ever plays up as you put your foot down and sod-all happens!! No problems since the pump was replaced. |

Mine was also replaced by Volvo free of charge. As far as I understand it though, Volvo do not intend to recall UK cars. The press release issued to the motoring press stated that they only intended to recall vehicles in "extreme climates" which they have decided includes Sweden and Germany. That's pretty much it.
They will replace UK parts FOC on a case-by-case basis.

In "extreme climates" the problem will manifest itself very soon, but in "soft climates" it will appear some years later. It is something like "time bomb" on a part that it is not inteded to be serviced on a regular basis. This part will fail anyway.
But my original question was about the master cylinder of the brake pump. Do you know anything about this? |
