Perhaps I should have bought it after all. Oh well....
It has the MOST interesting history file with pretty much every detail of anything that's ever been done to it. It was originally bought by a sailor from down here in Devon (Plymouth) from Volvo in London - the local Volvo franchise in Devon didn't start untill something like '66. He religiously rust treated the thing which is perhaps why the doors and stuff are completely rust free. The 2nd owner kept up the history file and lived really close to me and there are photos of the old car around this area. The current owner's had it for about 14 yrs or so. I would have loved to have brought it back to the area The seller described it to me as very good, but not excellent which I think is an extremely good way of describing the car. It is a beautiful, solid car and very well presented, but for me there was a list of jobs here and there that would all add up to more than I was wanting to spend altogether and it took me about 3 weeks of serious thinking before I decided against it. That was before I knew what an excellent welder our man Tail is! I was very much looking forward to getting the thing running right It will definitely make someone extremely happy, but I didn't have the cash to buy it AND get the jobs done so I want to make it clear that I'm not saying the price was wrong. I managed to buy my old Citroen for less than that and have had to spend £0 so far on repairs
