Default Volvo 164E

While I ushually buy Datsun Roadster parts on ebay I had good luck with a Saab Sonett for full restoration. The true find though was an almost new 75 164E. He started at $10,000 buy it now then after 3 listings which I kept calling him I got it for $4100. (sorry ebay you got screwed on the fee) But ebay does work. Anyone know of a 164GT dash out there?

Lancaster, Pennsylvania? So far as I know there is no 164GT dash. There is one that was designed for the 140 series which could, of course be fitted to a 164.

Default Two 164s

Getting back to the original subject....
A well-known member of these Forums kindly checked these cars over for me, and took no less than 84 pictures of them, a fantastic job. I always try to rescue abandoned 164s, and these fit the bill exactly as I remember when i sold the blue one to the seller....
Although not looking too bad on the advert, the blue one has rust everywhere and the yellow one looks better although the manifoldless engine appears seized. Don't be disillusioned - they would both be major and uneconomic restoration exercises, the best bits of both appearing to be the interiors. Just about every panel has rust and both bonnets have become detached from the cars due rust.
My offer for both (as spares to my fleet) has been turned down so far so expect them to be won by banger-racers (unless they don't like what they see) - hope they are on here and will read that I would like to buy both interiors for my latest aquisition.

I agree Paul.

If you get the chance of either/both cars, I would be in the market for a good bonnet (not dented and very little rust) and/or, if you don't need it, a very good rear seat.

I'm sure the GT dash was available with a 6 cylinder tachometer for the 164. I have the 164 version of the later sport dash (1973 onwards) for my 164... so not for sale!

Cheers

John

Default 164s

I see both went for just over £300 each: hope they were bought by an owner needing some 164 spares.
However, if the new owner would like some reimbursement I would be very interested in both car interiors - they can't be worse than in my new toy.
