Hello,
I understand what you mean. If you are sourcing second hand ones look for the ones with the two horizontal stitching lines I mentioned previously. All 'R' models have this but they only come in two colours; charcoal/black and beige. However other later models have the stitching too for the other colours.
Cheers

Hello,
Yes the panels are exactly the same size, front and rear. The S70 is only a few mm's shorter than the V70.
Cheers

That's good to know.

I'm going to try and restick the door cards tomorrow, I'm not sure what kind of glue to use though.
I think silicone maybe a good bet, it sticks to anything after all.

Door card thing is very common. Yes, V70 will fit fine. Our S70 has at least one if not two V70 door cards.

Have a go with the glue gun, but as has been said, if you can source some new cards it'll be a lot easier.

Have a scan through Ebay - they are always coming up, and there's a guy on here called Minty who I think has ready access to all sorts of bits. Check out the for sale section.

Cheers

Jack

Well I have been driving the car for a week now, and I am very pleased indeed!

The engine sounds perfect. No pinks or taps. No smoke of any colour, no oil leaks, and the car is repoting an average 31.8mpg.

I have had a play with 2 door cards, using spray glue, so far the 2 rear are holding well, but I'm not 100% happy.

The clutch bites after about a third of travel and the car holds a perfect straight line EXCEPT during heavy braking, when the car pulls right.
I'm hoping it is because the car was stood up for a few months previous to me getting it, if not I shall investigate!

A part from that, the car is perfect.
I gave it a jet wash earlier, and it's got a lovely shine now, so it's gunna look ace after a t cut.

It doesn't hace a CD changer, does anybody know if the wires are already there if I can find 1?

Hello,
Nice to read your update.
To check for cd changer prewiring, pop the stereo and look to see if a jack is plugged into the port, this is assuming it still has the standard stereo.
My understanding is that only 'R' models were prewired.
The other end of the changer lead will appear beside the electric aerial motor on the N/S in the boot.
Cheers

Cheers.
I think I'll wait until I change the aerial.
It's a little noisy, so I'm going to fit a replacement in a week or 2.

I was looking through the receipts today, and it seem's the car started life as a demonstrator, which explains it being fully loaded.

What I don't understand though, is that the car originally had a different number plate assigned when it was a demonstrator, I have no idea why, or that it was even possible to change the registration!
The chassis number matches, so it's definitely this car!

The car then went on to be a Library managers car for Devon County Council for 4 years, then an old man bought it.

The 6 previous MOTs show he only drove 2-3k a year, so all the mileage went on in the first few years.

Anyway I'm waffling, I'll shut up before I bore you all!

I've spent the day on the car today.

I've scrubbed up the inside, but I'm still far from happy.
I've ordered the leather cleaner/dye pack, and I've ordered some carpet shampoo.

I took out the rubber mats and scrubbed them in fairy liquid, they come up pretty good, as did the boot carpet, which is drip drying on the washing line!!

I noticed a damp patch in the boot, is there a common place water gets in?
I've looked but I can't see any water trails.

The front discs look a little worn, so I'm going to have them replaced, does anybody have any recommended discs/pads?

The only other problem I've found are the front fogs not working.

I took a couple of pictures, be warned.. I haven't washed the outside yet!!

This picture shows the door cards. They really spoil the car.

The next 2 show the scuffs that are being fixed on Thursday:
