Default R-Design-Front Splitter/Side Skirt Kit.

Do you guys feel the front splitter section and side skirt kit are a disaster to keep in terms of been very low, with no ability to fit manufacturer made or recommended mudflaps and the paint work does become scratched, scored and a bit disheartening to look at?

Yes some might say sure you don't see it as it's underneath the car but sometimes perfectionism can takeover.

I had the side skirts professionally touched up underneath and a few small ticks touched in across the visual sides but it seems you would never be done.

I have the 2.0 litre petrol R-Design model, it flew through the test again the other Friday, Feb-2012 and 69,700 miles on the clock.

I just get so cheesed off when the tar spots flick up around the lower sections of the doors as well, it wasn't Volvo's best ever thought process to leave those R-Design models without a mudflap option, or one they certainly endorsed anyway.

not really. it seems pretty consistent with every other car I've owned. Especially this time of year. Mud flaps will make zero difference to the waist line tide mark all cars get when it's wet autumn weather. If you are really bothered you need to by the paint guard transparent car wrap. but the car will still get dirty. you should have bought a country, or all road or a general 4x4......

It has been a very good car, very loyal reliability wise and is kept really well, I'll run it on another while anyway and see how I feel after that.

Greer's Of Antrim one of the Volvo dealers here closed with immediate effect after 30 years selling Volvo's - the liquidators took the lot basically over night.

Very good people to deal with as apposed to the Belfast dealership SMW which falls under the Agnew banner which in turn are owned by over arching Synter Group.

I priced a car with Marshall's in Liverpool recently, it was a small world as our conversation went on, he had sold one only 30 mins up the road from me that same week - guy arrived over and drove it back home happy as a sand boy.

The front splitters a real poor design job, had mine repainted and all the scuffs filled in as it looked a mess.
Lasted two weeks and picked up a scuff,it's way too low and those rubber pads do nothing to protect it from the poor state of what passes for roads in England.
As for the tar, just use Autoglym tar remover on a regular basis to keep it down.
