If it is just bad, get yourself an overhaul kit from Webcon (www.webcon.co.uk) and overhaul the thing.
Another source may be Dai (Classicswede) who is up in Anglsey.

All 340 autos have the 1.4 engine.

For a 1984 year model he carb required is a Weber 32 DIR type 104-100 - but a type 109-100 could also be used (the deceleration fuel shut off switch would not be used).

Most carb problems can be fixed - what is the actual problem that requires the carb to be changed?

I sold him one nearly two months ago

EDIT: Mac - severely damaged threads (for the main set screws). The garage reckoned it couldn't be repaired. I tried to talk him out of a replacement, but they wouldn't have any of it!
