  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

if you put the ignition switch to the run position, any of the terminals on the ignition switch will be connected to the positive terminal of the coil, except for the terminal connected to the starter.

Later 1800/ES use a standard coil like the 140's. I still say nominally 3 ohm.

Have to say if I was going to the trouble of fitting electronic ignition I’d go for a new high output coil as well, if you use a bulkhead fitting and a black coil it’s not far from the look of the original
Yes I did it once years ago when I had a spare coil/ignition switch to cut up and it looked OK once it was all painted black. I'd rather not do it to this coil/switch if I can help it and I don't have a spare. I'm going to give it a go 'as is' and see if their compatible (I suspect they will be).
