Weird Coolant Leak

Hi everyone,

So couple months ago I've purchased Volvo v40, d2 from 2014.
Drives smooth, everything fine, until coolant cap broke - I have replaced it as it caused pretty mess under the bonnet by 'exploding' coolant all over, and I thought that will do for good. But since then, I have magical coolant leak somewhere.

So far, what I know, the water pump was replaced with timing belt before my purchase, and I have visited the garage to see if they can find anything related to water pump, there was a residue present but I believe from the exploding coolant rather than it's leaking at the time. I've left car with them for whole day, and no leak appeared. Huh not surprised. 😅

What I have noticed so far, surprisingly the coolant looks to be disappearing when I'm using AC during driving. I know there is no real connection between AC and coolant and it's what makes it strange.

Another thing from different garage what I have found out, it could be a cylinder head, when engine is working harder (using AC?) It creates more pressure and the coolant leaks somewhere. But then, driving on higher RPMs would cause it also I believe what I've tried on a 250 mile trip, without AC driving above 2500 RPMs for w while and there was no leak or whatsoever.

I'm running out of ideas what might be the cause, without potential of spending thousands of pounds for stripping the engine?

Have anyone had similar issue before?
Before questions, Until now, and until I realised that when using AC is going quicker, I had to top up the coolant tank ever 2 days as it was going under minimum.
Doing daily 50 or more miles.

Perhaps you can pressure test the cooling circuit when the engine is cold ?

A leak may then become visible.
