Routine Service to write off? V40 D2 Cross Country VEA
Hi,
Hope someone can help. The car was approaching 88,500 miles so we decided to get the timing belt changed. After reading forums decided to go for a Volvo service Center. Note the car was driving absolutely fine - the service was preventative based on Volvo recommendations. The job was complete and we received a health check - noting, there was an amber around EGR for an inactive code with a recommendation to check at some stage. On the first drive back from picking up the car and subsequently, the car will
We contacted the Volvo garage who recommended we charge the battery as the software update may have drained the battery - we did. Issue persisted - Volvo took the car in. They have since replaced the EGR, as well as identifying an issue with the fuel tank, fuel filter etc with a hefty bill at cost to us, they have refused responsibility we have argued this is consequential loss having been in their care, the car is still not fixed and they are recommending the next step replacing the fuel injectors at a colossal cost but no guarantee this will remedy the situation. We are very much at a loss as of what to do as the cost of repairs has spiralled beyond anything we could have expected or to be honest can afford if the car will ultimately be un drivable. Anyone have any ideas of what the cause might be or what we could do? |
