Dashboard Mount
We have just purchased a 2010 V50 S Drive from a dealer, there is a mount on the dashboard and wondered if this can be identified from the image below.
Thanks in advance Regards 28081947 |

Looking at the writing on it i have found this http://www.eserviceinfo.com/index.ph...ove+jve+s2+94v. Still unsure exactly what it is but think it's some kind of control board for something??

If that was from a volvo dealer under the SELEKT used car scheme , they MUST remove this and repair the dash , it is part of the conditions of the SELEKT used car scheme ..

^^^^^^ Good Advice ^^^^^
I'd definitely pursue that course of action. That's unsightly and has made a meal of the dashboard. Was it previously an emergency services vehicle?

everything I could see online was that it was a mount for a pc like bit of hardware.
I too would guess emergency services as they wouldn't really care about mounting it neatly as they'd just want it secure. |

I think it may be a DC-to-DC converter, as you rightly say mainly for mobile equipment/laptops used by emergency services typically, definitely get it removed by the dealer if you can as will possibly affect future resale value if a future buyer wrongly thinks it's been thrashed by the emergency services.

Thanks for all your replies, I have been away for the weekend without internet access the car wasn't purchased through a volvo dealer so this would not apply, all in all we are very happy with the car.

Thank you once again for all your replies.
I think I may have found out what the mount is, it appears to be for the Volvo Portable Sat Nav System, which is a Garmin. Hope this information is of use to others and a Volvo Information Leaflet is here I also found this on eBay |
