Default 2001 V40 B4204T3 Flame Trap problem?

As the title says I may have a clogged flame trap problem on a
2001 V40 B4204T3 5 speed auto 150km.

Can I ask any ones with knowledge their opinion on this before I start the big flame trap clean out job as I do have oil pushing out of my timing belt area down low, which seems it could be getting passed the main seal behind the harmonic balancer.

I did the thin latex surgical glove test over the oil filler hole, expecting to see the glove inflate, but in my case it almost sucked the glove into the rocker box, is this still a flame box clogging problem.??

Cheers George

No answers? Well I tackled the flame box yesterday, what a pig of a job and dirty as well!
Yes 3 of the 4 inlet/outlet were totally blocked, looks like the surgical glove test even getting sucked in, indicates a blocked flame trap. All good now and no oil getting pushed passed any engine seals.
My car is a 2001 V40T B4204T3 motor it's done 149k and always had good oil changes never used oil. Looks to me as those klm are about the time the flame trap blocks up.

Cheers George

That's a great result.
Must admit I was too frightened to answer when you posed the questions.
They say 100000 for flame traps, but I don't remember if that's kilometres or miles
I recon miles.

The thing is I have no idea who they is but they seem to have a lot to say

Yeah I hope now that the oil leak/s will stop, and the seals will seal again.
I degreased now for the 4th time down behind the timing case and underneath, luckily the timing belt only had a bit of oil on both edges, time will tell if the seals are now doing their job.

Hope the seals (crank or cam) weren't damaged or pushed out from their seated position, I doubt they could get unseated as you have to knock them pretty hard into place, hopefully they just leaked passed the sealing lip because of the crank pressure before.

Time will tell!

Cheers George
