Good job the spare K-jet unit I bought came with an entire set of new-looking injectors right? Good tip with the grease, should help nicely as the injector... Ports? in the head are a bit grubby and rough.

Definitely! I think i'd be inclined to get a new set of "O" rings from Volvo, re-using secondhand ones is always a gamble. Helps to eliminate the obvious really.
Also give the ports a bit of a clean with either some emery cloth, a small rotary wire brush in a drill or similar, just to get rid of the dirt and any corrosion and give the "O" rings a nice smooth surface to seal against.
