No Dash Lights
Hi all
As title suggests, I have no light surrounding the dash, everything else lights up, handbrake warning light, bulb warning, lights on etc - when dark there are no lights! Can;t see speedo or anything. Rheostat is turned up to max I believe. Is it a simple case of replacing the bulbs? Thanks |

Could be just bulbs but your description is not very helpful, can you be more specific + I'm assuming you have a 700 (pic) ?

Ahhh my apologies - 740 GL...
Ive been reading online about it after I posted on here actually, best idea might be to bypass the rheostat |

Dash lights
There are several different types of dash bulbs, and some can be removed from the holder while others are integral to the holder. Some are a stupid price and some are NLA.
The other possible issue may be the light-pipe. On at least some illumination is spread around from ONE bulb via transparent plastic light-pipes, and there are different shaped light pipes (certainly for the two main dash shapes) and I think ALL are NLA.

Evening all,
Haven't gotten to the bottom of my no dash lights issue was driving in the dark last night, no dash lights for the heater and couldn't see the speedo etc. Could this still be down to the rheostat being faulty? I've checked fuses 5 and 21 they seem fine. Thanks in Advance |

Yes .. the rheo controls all heater/original fit radio and switch/cig lighter illumination.
For a while, until I fitted a replacement 2nd hand rheo, when my lights failed (the were intermittent) I had a small lamp on some velcro that I could plug into the lighter socket and 'stick' to the cluster! |

Yes, u can scrap the rheo. There are 3 terminals. +/- and dimmed out .... BUT make sure u get it right, or u will fry the blue plastic film circuitry!
