Will the towbar from my 2017 XC60 (current model) fit a new XC40 ?

I would very much doubt it, also part of the interior of the xc60 bumper is removed to fit the towbar and would need refitting if you remove it. This will have been chucked away by the fitter, as no longer needed.

Highly unlikely I would imagine as the cars are built on two different platforms, XC60 is SPA, XC40 is CMA.

Just fitted
Hi
I just fitted a tow bar to my 2019 XC40 it came from these guys and was cheaper than buying on eBay. towbarandtrailercentre.com. I also ordered the Dedicated Volvo XC40 fitting kit which utilised the connection plugs already fitted to my car. There was only one piece of 'wire work' required and this was very simple to do. They provide complete instructions to follow and the whole job took just a few hours. I chose to fit the detachable type which cannot be seen at all when the 'ball' is not fitted. You do have to remove the rear metal bumper bar mounted under the external bumper but the new tow bar you are adding is far sturdier. Altogether a straight forward job for your average DIYer. |
