Independent Dealers in Lancashire
Currently shopping around for a used V70 D5.
I haven't as yet looked at any dealers - nearest one to me is Stratstone in Preston. I have come across The Corner Garage in Warton and Paul Nutbrown Volvo in Southport. Anyone have any comments or recommendation with regard to any of these ? PM. If necessary ! |

Not a million miles away from you is the Deeside Motor Center,
http://www.volvo-service.co.uk/ Deeside Motor Centre Ltd. High Street, Connah's Quay, Deeside, Flintshire CH5 4DJ Tel: 01244 816802 Email: info@volvo-service.co.uk Always have a good selection on offer. I recently bought my S60 D5 from Oldham Stratstone, got a fantastic windscreen price (by Volvo Stealer standards) and the whole purchasing process was painless and even enjoyable. The salesman, Chris Hardy, had a lot to do with that though, a genuinely 'bloody nice bloke' who had moved up in the world from volvo techy to saleman in the same dealership, so he knew his stuff inside out. Good luck & happy hunting

I brought my 2002 S60 from Deeside would certainly recommend them, you could also try Walkdens in Chorley, they are apparently very good for servicing and usually have a few cars here and there

Well I happened upon a nice silver S60 D5 with Winter Pack at Dobsons of Kendal.
Viewed it today and deposit has been paid ! The car sold itself to me simply by the drive despite it having the P6000s. Just have to wait now until the 21st July to collect. The only comments noted on the dealer inspection was slight wear to one track rod end and the tyres are close to their wear limit which is no bad thing. I'll replace them with the F1s or others suggested. Only slight issue was that the dealer was unable to tell what, if any, warranty/recall work had been carried out. I was very insistent at needing to know especially wrt the injectors (it's a 2002 model). I was however, verbally assured that this car was not a problem wrt injectors. It has a full Volvo service history for which I have copies of each invoice. I also have the VIN and engine numbers if any kind soul can help wrt checking warranty work ? |

I would recommend Paul Nutbrown Volvo in Southport to anyone. He sells all manner of Volvos as well as giving a first class after sales service. He is always on the end of a phone for the most minor of questions. His service and repair section is always busy so make sure you book in advance in order to get a courtesy car.

Roger Newhouse, unit 2 snaygill ind est, keighley road Skipton. highly reccomended. nutbrown is expensive. north west trading moat house street higher ince, wigan. limited stock but reasonably priced. pickmere volvo pickmere cheshire, pricey but good. i spent 15 years with north west trading, so i do know who and what i am on about. stratstone preston are ok but Rybrook warrington are better for sales and customer service if u want to use a main agent. mail me for any further info req. |

I've just headed up this way, with a 7yo V70 and have had dealings so far by phone with Walkdens, and in person with Corner. The reason why I had dealings with Corner was that they were able to give me a cheaper price to investigate a warning light error code, £20 as opposed to £30, and were able to do it that lunch time. I will be looking at getting Corner to do more work on my car in due time, including a once over before I go to France for 6 months where my nearest Dealer will be in Lyon, and therefore slightly harder to get to.
Unfortunately Corner couldn't solve the error code, so if anyone knows of a specialist in the area who has the tools to bypass the SIPS bags to continue the investigation then that would be brilliant as it then means that I don't need to see Pendragon!!! Ed |

Corner Garage
Corner Garage are A1++++++++++
Both my Volvos have come from there. 1997 S40 1.8 & 2000 V70 2.5D. They have a good range in. Martin is the guy who does most of the buying, if you want something very specific I'm sure he can sort you out. Very good mechanics, very cheap servicing. Haven't got VADIS yet, but I'm hoping they will soon. Chris |
