Default S80 dash replacement query

Hi,

I am the new (to me) owner of a 2002 S80 D5 which has the common dash lighting up and then dying issue. I know I can send it off and get it repaired as I have had this done on my other S80. However, my question is, can I replace it with another dash with the same serial number (which came with the car)and everything will work or would a replacement dash need reprogramming?

Thank you.

Default Hi.

To the best of my knowledge , a donor DIM will work if the code numbers are as near as possible with the exception that the mileage will never be correct .
The donor car mileage will be displayed and the CEM will store the true mileage .

Update
The dash apparently is so corroded it is beyond repair, as is the "spare" that came with the car (I'm starting to smell a bit of a cover up job by the seller here). So, my next question is which part numbers need to be the same - there are five different ones - all or just one or two?
Pics to follow.

What colour is the plug on the back? White or green? There is a chance to upgrade to the dash from 2003 with rings that were less prone to fail. I did this in mine. I would look at the last Yazaki nr 69294-650T. What's the nr on the other dash?

Hi ele288,

Thank you for this.

All numbers are the same on both units and plug on back is green. The YZK P/No on these is 69294-650T. Is this the only number I need to match?
