I have now had my complete throttle body housing completely replaced and so far have had no problems although it has only been a week.

I will look at the printout I was given by my specialist tomorrow and let you know what he found.

Apparently Volvo are aware of a problem with the thottle body, hence they brought out a dampener modification for the car.

Hope this info helps.
Thanks for the information. I would imagine that the throttle body housing is not cheap to replace, even if I do the work myself (assuming it doesn't require any computer resetting nonsense). Has Volvo modified the housing or could the problem could recur at a later date with the new housing?

It cost me £280 for the part fully fitted. I think the part was around £200 and the labour £80.

I am unsure if the throttle housing has been modified or changed in comparison to the original however I know that the dampener they installed previously is still there. Apparently the dampener is there to eliminate or lower the vibrations to the thottle body which is apparently what causes the problem.
