Should that be 15th May?
I know it is close to me but I will not be able to make it along. I have the Flying Scotsman running past the garden that day. I do not know the actual time of the run as the powers that be have declined to broadcast the run times in an effort to stop people blocking the line as has happened elsewhere!

Waverley to Tweedbank under steam and back under diesel I believe. No times being made public (ticket holders excepted) so need to hang about all day - until the return that is.

Ian, just announced on my FB that The Scotsman Borders and Fife run on Sunday have been cancelled due to Network Rail not having checked that the locomotive can safely travel those routes. Network Rail have obviously known about this trip to Scotland for weeks but have now not given themselves time to check the routes. You cannot make it up!!

The carriages will be pulled on the routes by the vintage diesel so the 'Flying Scotsman' train will still cover the routes (Borders and Fife). The 'Flying Scotsman' engine will be on display at Bo'ness on Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th May.
Now is the time to sack the head of Network Rail for this incompetence.

Just heard on the radio that the water shall be boiled and the choo choo shall chuff chuff after all in both Borders and Fife.
Report is that Network Rail sent a letter to the tour company organising this series of events at 1640 yesterday to advise of the cancellation and then they went home. Meanwhile ScotRail engineering staff have now completed all of the gauging works required and have given the all clear. Apologies for the hijacking of the thread.
