V70 2000 won't read sim card
Volvo v70 2000 carphone.
I can't the carphone to react to a sim card in my "new" Volvo v70 from 2000. The sim card have been working in the car, before i bought it, but not know. The sim card reads in my phone but in the Volvo, the phone display only say "Insert sim card" (In german for some reason). I can't access the menu system either, but that may need a sim card. Any suggestions? |

My guess would be the age of the SIM card is the problem.
I use quite a few GSM devices, some are, like your Volvo getting on a bit and are only compatible with older 2G/3G SIM cards. You could try SIM cards from other phone providers or see if your current provider can offer a SIM which is backwards compatible with older devices? |

NB it is always worth cleaning off the card contacts with a soft tissue. The onboard phone uses a 2G sim card - a good source is GiffGaff but your provider may be able to help with a "legacy" version.
