Default CNG fuel level sensor error?

Does anybody know if there is a history of problems with the CNG fuel tank pressure sensor (part 30671181) as fitted to the S60 bifuel? According to info I've got the signal output range should be 0.5 volt at empty and 4.5 volts at full (3000psi). The output signal I'm getting is 2.5 volts at empty so the auto changeover never happens and of course the fuel gauge never drops below 1/2. I've been quoted £461 for a new one which sounds great if it was for the space shuttle but otherwise a touch overpriced!!!

Any advice most welcome.

I would not have replied to such an old topic however since yesterday I started experiencing exactly the same symptoms: my CNG level gauge never drops below half full and when it is empty it will not revert to petrol automaticaly. When the CNG is depleted the car starts to stutter I need to press the fuel button manually to continue driving on petrol.

I guess I am having the same problem with the CNG pressure sensor. The car is 2004 V70 bifuel.

@Crispy duck, how did you resolve this in the end?

Is it possible to remove the sensor safely as a DIY job?
Can one open it to repair it?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

13 years between posts, I think that’s a new record 😂

Original poster hasn’t logged in for about 5 years. You’ll be better off starting a new thread in the LPG/CNG bifuel section lower down the board.

That is a a record that definitely should not make one proud.

Thanks for the info, I was not aware of the fact that member is inactive for such a long time.

I did not want to pollute the forum with another possibly redundant topic so I thought it was best to continue from where someone already started.

I guess I should open another thread.
Thanks.
